NextFuel at the 21st International Conference on Transport Science (ICTS), 2024

At the 21st International Conference on Transport Science (ICTS) held in Portorož, Slovenia on 20–21 May 2024, Attila Akac presented a research paper titled “Investigation of Methanol as Long-term Energy Efficiency Solution for Maritime Decarbonization in Container Vessels”, co-authored with Afroditi Anagnostopoulou and V. Kappatos.

The study explores methanol’s potential as a sustainable marine fuel, focusing on its environmental performance, operational efficiency, and viability as a long-term solution for the decarbonization of container vessels. By comparing methanol to conventional marine fuels, the authors assess its impact on emissions reduction, energy consumption, and operational practicality across the maritime transport sector.
